Damn Digimon World. Had forgotten about the gathering poop simulator 🤣. Such good times trying desperately to get something cool just to be granted a fucking Vademon that made so much noise when he moved it made playing the game horrible (was super strong tho lol).

I remember the first time I rented Digimon. My brother took my memory card I had. So, I had to beat the game without being able to save. My PlayStation didn't shut off for like two weeks. So many fails. But It was A fun experience. Really need to go back and play It one of these days.

Renting Digimon World as a kid with no internet was incrddibly difficult. That game could be very cryptic at times.

Personally, my favorite monster carching game on PS1 is Jade Cacoon. It's short and has such a mysterious and cozy atmosphere.

Its setting is really unique, kind of like a fantasy Ainu culture (essentially the remnants of the indigenous population of Japan) with Ghibli anesthetics and vibes. Really unique.

MHS 1 & 2 are the perfect combination of jrpg style turn-based combat, & catching Monster Hunter monster but they shrunk them down into a kind of chibi version & you can mount them all & ride them around while questing.
