Not letting me test nightreign solo in beta was so annoying.
How it plays solo ultimately decides if I even get it or not.

You can just tell their parents are the kind of people who just gave em a crack pipe and an Xbox so they wouldn't have to give a shit about raising them
And there they shall remain until they're in their 40s and their now retired parents kick them out because they don't even have a day job to get away from their 18 consecutive hours of daily screeching anymore
Yeah, I did see that in the beta when I tried it. Still, I bet that I'll need actual humans whenever I get to the toughest monsters. I do have people to play it with so that's nice, at least!
It felt different when consoles went online for the first time. I was blown away that I could fire up a game and be playing and chatting with someone in Europe for example.
Now, a fun social co-op game is totally fine, bonus points if I can also play it by myself when the mood strikes (monster hunter, lethal company, etc). But as someone now on hour 60 of the 12th game in a canon series, solo experiences are unmatched.
The only multiplayer I like is splitscreen at home with one, two or three friends. And even then, I'm not getting any games without a solid singleplayer.
I love some multiplayer, we all know this, but damn we don't need to much of it. There is too much of it, in my opinion, which sucks because when it's good *there is nothing like it*; but oversaturation is a problem.
I have 5,500 hours in Warcraft, nearly 4,000 in Overwatch, 700 in Sea of Thieves; and my numbers are rookie numbers compared to some. The people who play these DIG IN, that audience doesn't toss its time all over the place. Its a doomed to fail system.
My problem is SP makes nowhere near as much as MP so it's been a decade since Fallout 4 and nearly a decade and a half since Skyrim but we get monthly updates for Fallout 76 and ESO.

Good morning! I read this more and more and kinda agree. I sometimes have fun in some multiplayer games but they also never stick with me for too long 🤣
Honestly, the only companies that are heavily multiplayer focused I've lost respect for. So, they can keep pushing out crap while I happily ignore their existence.
I feel it's extremes. either i see nothing but single player games when trying to find stuff with friends, or nothing but multiplayer when i'm looking for solo
It's not that I don't like people, it's that people don't seem to like me enough to want to invite me to play these games with them apart from ONE person who constantly gets into arguments with his gf while we play.
I really wish Destiny & Destiny 2 could be made single player, with all the live service & mtx stuff stripped out, and all the various DLCs tied together nicely to make a coherent story without having to dip into lore you have to grind to read, and all the raids completely manageable on your own.
Not judging all who do love multiplayer, I'm glad they love it. But for me the point of videogames is escapism, and I can't do that with other real life people roaming around whichever game I'm playing.
i like how no mans sky handles it. at no point is it needed in any really meaningful way to complete the game. the game makes you go to a multiplayer hub in the game but you can totally treat it like any other single player environment as you can only voice chat with party members.
I love a co-op 2-4 player game here and there but outside of that, I'm good not playing games versus angry strangers who spam chats with wild stuff. Let me have my singleplayer peace and quiet!
My older son will probably pull me into Nightreign, but online multiplayer is the death of me. Young people don’t want to start playing until 10pm and shit. I have animals waking me up at 5, no I do not want to sit and think about the lore while we sip Baja Blast.

Where I wouldn't be playing it so I can't even do that because there's no crossplay.
I like meeting new people in person. Or talking to them online.
But I am a different animal when it comes to video games, cause while I'm playing, I don't care to know what you had for lunch, only that we win.
But I never play games where I have be online and trapped in multiplayer hell 😂

STOP making single player campaigns an afterthought to multiplayer for every game! Single player will be around long after your servers melt!
STOP making me be always online or create an account with your company to play your game.
Bring back couch co-op! The young’uns obviously need it!
