Incredible- amazing that they were able to keep hold of it, and brave enough to do so.
I went to the museum of occupations and freedom in Tallinn last year and was so struck by this flag someone had made from scraps in a gulag π’
It was unbelievably moving - and I can really imagine being brought to tears.
I found it very powerful when you left the basement area that was about occupation, into the lift and then emerged in the freedom exhibit on the upper floor. It was quite an incredible feeling.
It was fascinating to listen to the different video stories. Adored Tallinn. Latvia & Lithuania were amazing as well. I flipped off Putin when I was close to Kaliningrad from LT. Estonia has taken 60,000 Ukrainians which equates to 15,000,000 for the US (if my math is correct). I plan to go back.
The accounts were both fascinating and horrifying.
I would also love to go back and see more of the country, not just the capital city. Iβd also love to visit Latvia and Lithuania.
I did the crossing over to Helsinki whilst there and made a similar gesture towards the East!
LOL. I was on the Curonian Spit in LT (visit there!) and about 1mi from Russia border. I am going to Denmark, Sweden & Finland in a mo - I'm going to take the ferry to Tallinn from Helskinki for a day trip. LT. 2nd image looks to Kaliningrad. 1/
I learned about the Baltic Way and The Singing Revolution. https://singingrevolution.com/ I recommend that all resistors watch this film. Inspiring and a cautionary tale. Little did I know when I went to the Baltics that it would be my country, the USA, to fall to Putin. 2/end
In 9/24 I went to the Baltics partly to support them. Went to the Museum of Occupation in Tallinn. Heartbreaking. Bought a book about the Estonians that fled in a small boat from Sweden to Virginia! I learned of these hidden flags & seeing it wave freely now meant so much more. 1/
This reminds me of the lady in Kherson who dug up her Ukrainian flag when Kherson was liberated π₯Ή . People who have no family history of suffrance of either occupation or attack have no excuse to remain ignorant. I have no time for anyone not on the right side of history to support Ukraine.

I never saw this idea in media until the last episode of Masters of the Air, where the liberated camp is shown to be secretly full of national flags.
Will be America if we do not stop Putins puppet Trump
