🌍 Substantial behavior changes are needed to address the #climate and #biodiversity crises. But which interventions can help realize such changes?

The answer is always the same. Fill the present spiritual deficit . That is open to varied interpretations but the dynamic is the same.
The movement to make different choices must come from within. If force or coercion was going to work it would have a long time ago.
Be Peace.
I believe this narrow view limits the relevance of behavioral science and may lead policymakers to overlook behavior change as an effective and feasible solution. 🤔
A few years ago, we published a simple catalog of interventions inspired by behavioral science research.
The catalog distinguishes between individual and population levels and the mechanisms through which behavior is influenced. 📚
1️⃣ Capability: Training and skill enhancement, e.g., teaching sustainable fishing practices or how to cook nutritious vegan meals.
2️⃣ Motivation: Using social norms and feedback, e.g., community conservation messages or energy-consumption feedback.

3️⃣ Physical microenvironment: Modifying the immediate environment to make sustainable choices easier, e.g., increasing the vegetarian meals in cafeterias
4️⃣ Physical macroenvironment: Changing broader infrastructure and systems, e.g., improving public transportation.
6️⃣ Institutional Environment: Establishing regulations and standards to promote behavior change and reduce impacts, e.g., setting sustainability standards for procurement.
It may also help prioritize interventions based on impact, feasibility, and cost, ensuring more effective behavior change efforts🌟
