*175 years later* Hang on, the Camptown Race Track is five miles long? That seems awfully long for a race track!

I look forward to your thoughts on Jimmy Crack Corn.
sorry idc
I don’t care.
I believe ‘doodah’ means ‘bullshit’
"How about 'De Camptown Ladies?'"
"The Camptown Ladies? Hmmm."
"Oh, you know..." (bursts into song)
Sure does. But now makes sense as to why it was special enough to write a song about.
Doo dah, doo dah
and yet... does it really take all night and all day to run it? Sounds like more of a stroll.
The big mud hole slows them down.
#DooDah! #DooDah!
Doo day, doo dah
When is this race going to wrap up? I don't have all doo dah day.
Apparently it really was five miles long, though it wasn't a racetrack so much as a track between villages on which a race was held
It’s why they have to run all night and day
🤣🤣🤣
but then they made it longer and got rid of the horses, so people had to run
Well, the Camptown ladies sing this song doodah doodah
Ah the Camptown race track's five miles long oh doo-dah day
Goin' to run all night, goin' to run all day
I'll bet my money on the bobtail nag, somebody bet on the bay.
Horse drag racing?
that's why you don't bet on the nag
I've actually attended a point to point race in the south of England that was something like 3.2 miles long. The horses do not so much fly by as jump with care.
