Eh? The Tonight Show is the No. 3 late night show in both viewers and demos! (I actually have no problem with Fallon. His comedy is rarely for me, but I think he's genuine and a fan of pop culture, so I wish him well. But him singing Soul Man? Solo? Just wasn't feeling it.)

I have to believe that the social media piece of Fallon's shtick, along with the fawning energy for NBC/Universal projects plays a part. And, Fallon is happy to play the pawn - not rock the boat
