and then today, heard one of my heroes, Rick Steves, talk for nearly 90 minutes about the importance of travel, and how critical it is to bring curiosity with you. But like Paula, he's livid, and he was totally comfortable sharing it with the hundreds in the room.

I've seen Rick Steves speak live a number of times over the years - always wild to see how much spicier he is in person. If you only know him from PBS, you owe it to yourself to hear him live.

He was superb. Felt good to hear the anger matched by optimism at what's possible if we lead w/our ideals.

I had no idea the magnitude of the Rick Steve's goodness until I moved up here to the Seattle area (he's from Edmonds, north of Seattle, and gives a lot to his community, among other things).
