So yes, it might appear at face value that you could work with someone with a different political alignment on 'protecting children', but they have an entirely different idea of what protecting children looks like which is in opposition to your own.

And by the way, I do not even believe it's impossible to work with people who I don't align with politically. You can often find some common ground. But ultimately it involves more positional change (ideally from the other person!) than they seem to think it does.

And to be clear I'm not saying that it's just the responsibility of PAs in building bigger tents to let more people in - both sides should be willing to campaign with ppl without needing complete ideological alignment, and there will always be ppl who you definitely would not want to campaign with

By the way, I don't think this means the solutions are useless. They have value. Finding messaging that appeals to people where they are is important, but that's different from just working with people who hold completely different values and have different objectives.

And again I agree with the thrust of this - I don't think it's productive to exclude someone who has ever voted Reform, but maybe someone who still intended to isn't going to share your values anyway. And it's really striking how they didn't mention the last line here!
