Hard to say, Id personally it's a tie between MC5 and The Stooges as well. They had a pretty raw sound that stood out among their contemporaries at the time.

I think if you put Velvet Underground on the list then you have to put The Sonics. I think you have to have The Sonics anyway. Then MC5 and The Stooges after.
