Infuriating, to put it mildly, to hear the reverend at today's Trans Day of Remembrance service tell us all how she agrees with Cass.
2 people walked out.
2 people walked out.

Iβm surprised it wasnβt a stampede.
I could go on
I'm so sorry that someone decided to be hateful and disgusting at your event.
As the parent of a trans child who is still under 18 I'd have walked out too. She has NO idea what my child is up against.
And to use trans day of remembrance to platform that shit!
What possible reason could she have had to even mention Cass?
I am so cross.
It's abhorrent at any other time to address a group of trans folks and tell them you agree with an immensely damaging work, but at a vigil remembering those who's light is no longer with us?
For absolute shame, Rev Linda Ballard.
It seems not only were her comments utterly inappropriate, they were particularly offensive to use at a TDOR remembrance event.
Would she had been as controversial at other remembrance events, or did she just single this one out?

Fk her. What a massive arse. Certainly not the time or place for tht kinda bullsht... not that any time is... but that seems calculated to cause maximum upset.
So sorry you had to go through that on a day like today π
Such a shitty stunt to pull at any time - let alone on that day of all days. π€¬
Sorry you all had to endure that.

But we will find out.

The organisers must be so upset, along with everyone else. Iβm sorry to see criticism of them. Itβs hard to react when youβre basically on the floor after someoneβs taken a massive side swipe at you. Much easier with hindsight.
Badenoch was gloating that the review was rigged through her appointment.
Everybodys face just dropped when she then said "I agree with the Cass report".
Few clapped when she was done, some had walked out & others furious
The Cass Report was sadistic pseudoscience that has already caused loss of life not just in the UK but around the globe where right-wing politicos are falling all over it as the 'height of science'.
You don't "agree" with a murder weapon.
π―% this.
She showed up to officiate a funeral like
"π B*tches deserve it and I hope you all get it too π"
And acting as if that's anything but cruelty.
Like seriously.
Backing child abuse after last week takes one horrifically broken moral compass.
When it came down to action, they all turned their backs.
At the very least, she should apologise publicly and acknowlege the damage she has caused.

Never been to one since
If she wanted a discussion about it, do it another time when there are people to respond.
At a TDoR event, irrespective of having a trans son, is abhorrent & disrespectful. I'm surprised so many people stayed.
Doesn't matter who organised it, that is a punch in the face.
I have no issue with faiths attending, it's important to know there's people working on fixing those wrongs, but the message has to be a real fucking clear "I support you", no ifs, buts. So.. just be there
I don't think that the organiseers could have predicted this, tbf.
And she should have known better than to use the event for a controversial issue.
Did she not even think for a minute to discuss what she planned to say with the organisers beforehand?
