Derek’s comments on the PHLY almost made it sound like people within the org are flat out contradicting Embiid, or believe he’s just holding out hope there’s a medical fix.

No, I think it was the one from 2/19.

The most logical explanation an ortho surgeon suggested to me is that Embiid’s talking about a scope, bc MRI’s sometimes are difficult to diagnose a repaired meniscus, & if it was a conservative surgery or there was another injury, there could still be a flap.

Makes sense. Imaging is probably coming out clean, Embiid still feeling symptoms, front office and team docs are probably telling him its part of the healing process, Embiid doesn't buy it, I mean he's probably playing in pain. Scope will probably tell if something is wrong or if this it for him.

It's definitely smart to make your hobbled franchise center continue playing for a team that's 15 games under .500 instead of just getting whatever surgery he thinks he needs.

That play-in revenue will totally be worth sacrificing the 2025-26 season.

Worst part is I think we have a better chance to catch the play-in without him…just like that run with Maxey a month ago. We were running and playing fast. Biid just slows down everything we give him the ball like its last year, and isnt good on D anymore+reb issues. We play like in the 90s with him

I agree, so for that reason alone, I’m fine with him continuing to play and help the sneak-tank.

I just can't believe the Sixers extended Embiid after seeing how much he struggled to move 6 months after a minor meniscus procedure that you're supposed to be able to bounce back from in 6 weeks.

And what a sad end for Embiid if this is it. Didnt played until past his 22nd Bday and went down just at the end of his 29th. Never out of the 2nd round, played nearly all his prime with Tobias’s contract. And that bad reputation outside of Philly where no other fanbase seem to like him very much..
