I love a good basic name for a pet and Mike is a great example.
I didn’t always tho. When little everybody but dad wanted to name puppy Domino but pops won out and yclept him Phredde.

The cocker/poodle was black with five white spots on the underside, so obviously should have been Domino.
Dad went with Fred, so Mom insisted spelling be
“Phredde,” to be difficult.

My mother told a great story about moving into a neighbourhood. Someone came up and told her that a cat had come into their yard and chased their dog up a tree. While the guy was describing the cat my mother realised it was ours. 😯
But he doesn't seem to have been afraid of dogs; instead, dogs were afraid of him. So the article should read 'he gained notoriety for his interactions with ailurophobic canines.'
