I once travelled for 200 miles on a road in the middle of the Amazon, and for 5 hours there were fireflies along the road on the forest. It is until this day probably the most beautiful thing I saw with my own eyes. Fireflies didn't have to exist, but I'm also glad we gotta a planet that has them
The other night I was sitting outside on my deck a little after it got dark, enjoying the night air and the solar lights in the backyard, and then something WHAPPED me real hard in the side of the head and I look over and its a goddamn firefly and it woozily flies off and starts puffing and glowing
I grew up in an area that has so many fireflies, you can literally walk aroun and see on an overcast night, but moved to a place that has none. I took for granted how special it was to be able to enjoy that experience for most of my life. This is touching.
There’s a tucked away spot in my nightly run that has a delightful overabundance of fireflies. It’s like entering a magical fairyland every time. Indescribably breathtaking. ✨
When the fireflies come out and it looks like my backyard is twinkling. I think to myself “in the vastness of the universe, right now the fireflies could be in the exact same star pattern seen from some planet that will never be known.” I then take a quite moment for myself.

The sentimental observations like this though are what make me really love it.
And I think that's the most beautiful panel you've ever done, awed at how far you pushed the artstyle.
