Hey, I meant to come back to this. Puttin' on my clinical hat for a quick sec, this can be tough. I'll say that burnout will usually resolve by changing circumstances, whereas depression usually requires more targeted interventions, possibly including meds. In other words, if stepping away from the
source of the burnout makes a noticeable difference, then it's likely that. If removing or reducing the source of burnout doesn't help, then it's worth pointing the finger at depression. Burnout (of course) can exacerbate depression. If all the usual good advice doesn't help, (sleep, exercise, and
diet) then it's worth talking to somebody about whether or not depression has kicked back up. I hope this is helpful, and a reminder that this is just my opinion and you should definitely talk to your profesh ppl if you're feeling especially down because you deserve to feel better. 💜
