Tear It Down

Oh, man. When Goldman-Sachs is poking holes in AI, shit is getting REAL

Ok. At what cost of lives? Because the reason factory work left was because of unions, safety, and living wages. So, sure, we have have factory work ,as long as Americans stop having to buy the least expensive option

... Duh?

Alexa, where did I put my 6-hole punch? Also, please increase sunlight by 20%. Thanks!

Daily gratitude: making time for stillness and silence.

Boebert brings to mind the aphorism "it's better to be silent and thought an idiot, than to speak and remove all doubt"

It would be reasonable to think that after 20+years, I'd know my partner's birthday. I'm imminently unreasonable, as it happens.

Spotify has curated the following playlists for me: current pop, emo, goth/industrial, Bristol sound, Motown/50s do-wop, classic rock, hair metal, radio rap, classic jazz, and witchcore. I feel like I need to branch out some.

In a meeting, and a dev says "can you explain what Talos is?" And I say "Talos is a Skrull, primarily known for his inability to shapeshift, unlike other Skrulls." Response? "... Pft. In what universe?" Me: "... Uh? Marvel?" What are they teaching our computer nerds these days??

🚨BREAKING: Judge finds flying migrants to El Salvador after orders not to "demonstrate a willful disregard for its Order, sufficient for the Court to conclude that probable cause exists to find the Government in criminal contempt." Visit www.democracydocket.com for full details and analysis.

Honestly, this question was a massive reason I really really considered not paying this year, but I don't want to put services even more at risk.

Maybe you need the reminder that you'll appreciate the shower, even if you are avoiding it

What I think is getting lost here is that they were under a preservation of records order. #signalgate www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

I want to throw up

My foundational thinking is and will continue to be that if you cannot afford to pay ample capital to the people who run your business for you and provide you with ample capital, you should not own a business nor pretend you are a businessperson.

For @squirrelhead.bsky.social

Nothing drives home just how unlike other people you are until, like, 7 people waxing rhapsodic about something that you find truly unpleasant.

When before the disaster that the current administration brought down on us, I was overloading myself to stay employed. Now, I'm not only burnt tf out, I'm also absolutely terrified for the future of our country in more ways than I realised were possible. And it keeps getting worse.

Burnout Vs depression: how can you tell the difference?

I guess I have to make a conscious decision to not be here, either. I guess Tumblr will have to be it.

Tell me something good.

... The fact that he thinks these are *laws* instead of, essentially, memos - and that they are being treated as such by people who should know better! - is so gobsmackingly frustrating I can't even find the words. Like, y'all, I'm not a fancy smart person, and *I* get it so why don't our reps?

The only thing standing between Donald Trump and his authoritarian dream is the courts. But to defeat him, we need lawyers willing to litigate against him. Trump is trying to intimidate lawyers and law firms to stop fighting. At least for me, it won't work. I wear his scorn like a badge of honor.

Ohmygods www.whitehouse.gov/presidential...

I STG being in the kitchen at my non-existent grandkids' mud pie factory has more qualification requirements than being part of the current US Presidential administration.

I got this survey from the Heritage Foundation about the danger of open borders, that claims my response will be completely anonymous... But then asks me to verify name/address. Gee, I can't imagine how that might be used for nefarious purposes if I were to respond.

Remember last summer, when news outlets reported relentlessly on Democrats who were panicked about Biden being too old? That's because Democrats were relentlessly talking to reporters about it. Here's a better idea: Democrats should talk relentlessly to reporters (and the public) about Signalgate.

Daily gratitude: the birb app (finch) and how weirdly helpful it is. It's bizarre how motivating it is to wanna get cute outfits for my baby birb, so I actually do the shit on my to-do list.

I know grammar and "formal" pronunciation is classist and stuff, but that doesn't stop me from cringing inside every time a developer pronounces "boolean" as "bullion"

That aged like... Welp, normally, I'd say "fine milk," but even faster. So, idk. Avocado, maybe?

That's... That's the POINT, YOU CHOAD

Here's a gift link to the latest from Haaretz. Horrifying. www.haaretz.com/israel-news/...

The ACA was a genuine, real improvement in making health insurance less evil in this country. Health insurance is still evil, but LESS evil in important ways. People are alive who wouldn't be if not for the ACA, others are not bankrupt who would have been. I think better/less bad is good.

The ACA was cool because before the ACA EVERY SINGLE CHILD WITH CANCER hit their annual and lifetime limits almost immediately and were denied insurance for the rest of their lives and after the ACA that’s illegal.

I'm sure the DNA submitted won't be used in any sort of untoward way if/when 23&Me is acquired by a venture capital firm to be dismantled for parts.

The upside of boycotting so many companies is how quickly my savings account is accruing!

It never stops tripping me out how people who are on an entirely different level of mastery often credit things like meditation and slowing the fuck down with their success, but how often those exact things get ignored in corporate life.

Yesterday, I went 2.5hrs sw for a few hours and back. Today I went 2.75hra east and back. It's so dumb how tiring driving is.

The problem with funerals is you never see the people you'd expect to, and those that show up are surprising. Plus, you start wondering what your eulogies would be. Kinda wanna throw a serial funeral for all of my loved ones, so we can see where to course correct
