Thank you. It’s a tough decision to keep this payment going, particularly universally for Scotland’s pensioners, but this does make sure particularly vulnerable elderly people will benefit. Those who don’t need it can pay it back or donate to good causes in their area.

A few years ago, the SNP introduced a surcharge on the council tax for higher-rated houses. It was widely accepted as necessary.

Now parents of public school kids threaten to use food banks.

People will respond positively to real socialism rather than an even more austere version of the Tories.

My main worry about SNP is the welcome mat for the Russians. They could just come right in with independence. SNP do a lot of good but future defence of the realm is my major worry.

The SNP are in favour of NATO membership and the SNP are not exactly popular with Putin, Nicola Sturgeon was one of the first on his ban list. Scotland is an exceptionally important cog in the defence of Europe and America and that will not change. Mutual support and defence

It's a poor worry. I've no doubt the Scotgov would seek a mutual defence pact with the rUK.
Strategically, our geographical location is vital as we sit astride the main atlantic/ north sea sea lanes, so there's no doubt in my mind that NATO would bite our hand off on alignment. No welcome mat here.

I think they need to find something for this winter. Feels like a no-brainer. I'd tell the uk govt we're reinstating it with immediate effect and won't balance our budget this year, and let them try and sanction us in the glare of public scrutiny.

What about unable to work, working-age disabled people who don’t get income based benefits but do have income replacement benefits? Do they get a heating payment or do they get to freeze? Disabled kids get it. Huge loophole there.

If they’re giving out winter fuel payments then why not give a winter fuel payment to disabled people (who are worse off)?
