No polls yet on Bluesky (what's up, @bsky.app) but I'm curious on first blush what my followers make of the USL announcement today about starting a D1 men's league.

And because if pro/rel happens here, we get the opportunity to prove that America is ready for it.
The timing makes sense. Most games are on a cheaper streamer with more on TV than MLS. People will find it.
The system needs to be open so the weak teams can be replaced with more motivated teams.
If they want to improve the quality and quantity of Soccer in locations currently under served by MLS they should dictate that their members improve their training and playing facilities to at least Louisville City levels and their pay to even half of a mid table MLS team.
I would also harbor a guess that certain MLS investor-operators would be interested in hearing more details...
And the determination of fans changed the market investment in MLS - not US Soccer or Garber. It was the fans.
Now we must take the rest of the game back too
Somewhere in our society we have to have a merit based system that isn’t illusionary.
This is it. Maybe the only thing we have is soccer.
I think this will work wonder, if cultivated & not destroyed by existing powers.
Small communities deserve a chance, and teams shouldn’t be stolen in markets that build themselves up from nothing
People have wanted promotion / relegation for years. MLS has actively suppressed it through their influence at US Soccer.
Especially now with MLS Next Pro. The rumblings among the masses are getting louder
NASL & USL clubs want better & so do fans
