I worked in a restaurant between the ages of 15 to 19. I was constantly sexually harassed by male colleagues and customers. I didn’t have the courage or privilege to complain, I needed the job to afford my bus fare to college. Fuck off with the statute of limitations bollocks regarding speaking up.

My Mum was raised by an aunt who wouldn't stand for nonsense & then spent three years in the WAAF - I think the girls who did that learned - or were taught - to stand up for themselves!

In the US, tip dependency unfortunately means the waitresses and waiters often feel like they have less recourse when being harassed by clients and so may put up with it more.
I learned a lot that day.
It was great, everyone was kind and respectful and made me feel important.
