Years ago on holiday with some friends in Ludlow I suggested we visit a nearby stone circle. I think they were expecting a Stonehenge* type thing .... we arrived, and ... grumpy faces all round - clearly not true stone circle fans! * not a true henge

As it's Twelfth Night when all the deccies come down everywhere looks a little bare, so let's have some lavishness. The Forerunner (1920), Eleanor Fortescue-Brickdale Lady Lever Art Gallery (A shame this lovely piece is secreted in an alcove at LLAG, but they do have so many riches).

It was a bit parky on the seafront at Leasowe Lighthouse on New Year's Day!

Well, what do we have here? Dalgliesh, Death in Holy Orders, C5/My5, Ep2 Spot the Evelyn De Morgan! Obviously it's a copy, as the original hangs in the De Morgan Museum at Cannon Hall, Barnsley. By the Waters of Babylon, Evelyn De Morgan (1882 - 1883). www.demorgan.org.uk/collection/b...

Flowers on Fridays Claude Monet, 'Vase of Flowers', (begun 1881, finished 1920) @ Courtauld.

Small but lovely exhibition of Monet's views of the Thames. So many ways he found to treat the same view, showing London in all its Victorian smoggy glory. courtauld.ac.uk/whats-on/exh...
