I have nearly died four times from lupus. People say " it's amazing you still have a sense of humour".

Humour is my saviour. Though the older I get I just smile and say thank you but really want to say something else.

For me it's "energy" that I supposedly have so much of. Nope, I just get things done while I can, because I know I won't be able to if I don't. Thankfully, my symptoms aren't severe in any way, but they do drain energy and spending too many spoons per day is unwise.

I used to be really proud to say I was resilient until I realized I wasn't and was actually just conditioned to take shit from everyone, stay quiet, and keep working with a smile. So I'm pretty bitter about it now 🤣
