Councils are already telling service providers that there will be huge cuts, moving learning disabled service users into "voluntary" work, to hang around libraries and other free public spaces, with no trained support or protection, no transport to services, reduced hours per week- this is real.

You're right this has been on my newsfeed for well over a year on a daily basis regarding cuts. It's scary. It's causing way more harm. Mental health issues will spiral.

Disability reforms are more complex and involve assessments, typically of new claims. It’s very different than something like a fuel payment. Nobody will lose their disability benefits in a few weeks.

Thanks for saying this. It's so easy to get caught in a downwards anxiety spiral, especially with preexisting mental health conditions, and sometimes we (I) need a reminder from someone who gets it that thoughts and ideas aren't facts.

I get why you're saying this but my PIP claim expires next year and it's looking like I might not be able to renew so that's almost half my income gone and I'm supposed to be using it to pay for support.

I was only awarded my UC LCWRA for one year for an incurable condition with no treatment options. I’ll be reassessed later this year. I’m legitimately concerned about my future as a disabled person in this country. I appreciate your balanced take, but it will impact too many if it comes to pass.
