So I found a site listing the people who have part of their cremated remains on it. Most of them got to select a yearbook quote.

Half of them are academics with very fake sounding names.

I think most people agree religious groups don’t get to claim ownership of the moon but also private corporations should not be allowed to start divvying up the moon with NASA’s blessings. The problem is the religious group is the only thing raising objections about it.

Dumping remains on the moon is dumb on many levels, but have the Tribes raised previous concerns about satellites? Do they boycott satellite TV? Genuine curiosity, hoping to not sound like a dick. The quotes in the article were about space and stars in general, not solely about the moon.

My response was about why people outside the tribe are talking about this mission, I pretty clearly did not defend their right to claim ownership of celestial objects, so I’m not sure why you’re asking me to defend it.

They’re dumping things on stationary pieces of land, tho, not a big body of water (but also generally not a good idea to let corporations dump whatever they like into the ocean but that’s another matter)
