The NYT quotes SJSU’s assistant coach saying that the trans woman on the team jumps higher & hits harder than the cis women she plays against—but doesn’t check to see if that’s true (it’s not—the screenshot on the right is ESPN’s reporting from earlier this week disproving those claims.

Just one more reason why I stand behind my decision to cancel my subscription and block them on all platforms. Support news agencies that aren't motivated by profit. The Philadelphia Inquirer, NPR, and The Guardian go a long way toward not needing NYT, WaPo, CNN, and the like.

Newpapers are strapped for cash these days with reduced access to advertising or subscriptions, so probably fact-checking was out of the question. Those who remember NYT being the "newspaper of record" probably remember how to do the "Times fold" while riding the IRT at rush hour.

This reflects the anti-trans bigotry of the nyt leaders. They are deeply committed to spreading bias and have abandoned the standards of fairness and fact they are duty-bound to uphold…. But that’s how bigots roll; that’s why the nyt coverage of the AIDS epidemic was so shameful. History repeats.

Good point on stats.
The ESPN article puts NYT to shame. The team captain is an ass - joins the lawsuit, initially says the trans player colluded with an opp team to make her look bad, then boosts her stats by relying on the trans player.
