I can tell you from working in healthcare that hospital beds are already insanely expensive. This is in large part because so much of the market is controlled by Hillrom. Effectively eliminating Hillrom's foreign competition will only increase their market share and drive prices higher

I was in a major DC hospital for 6 days. My bed was broken. I complained during the 1st hour and told they'd asked for a replacement. The alarm went off every hour. The only way to stop it was to press a button you couldn't reach from the bed so it was unplugged. Never got a new one.
