By and large, these aren't "tariffs" per se, which try to balance prices. It's more like an embargo. The port fees on ships made in China, due to start April 17, would by themselves render unprofitable huge amounts of low-margin trade used throughout our economy. Stuff which we don't make here.

The discourse around tariffs has been “things will get more expensive” but I am here to tell you that I am knee deep in reporting on this subject and I strongly suspect that if super high tariffs endure, it will shift to *certain items cease to be available at any price*

Among many other things, it's going to devastate the board game industry, which doesn't have huge profit margins to begin with.
You set low tariffs for revenue. You set HIGH tariffs as deterrents.
