Folks I don't know that it's good that offline people are low info about the differences between liberal and left, that's how you get primary voters who think Joe Biden supported Medicare for All.

I don’t think this is an online vs offline issue though. We have had a generation or maybe two of all media more or less excising any and all things related to anything remotely considered left. There has been 0 left discourse in any open media forum since like the 60s.
The offline part of the framing is a response to discourse going on last night, where people were downplaying these divisions because "offline people don't know about them at all." They were saying this was a good thing, and I'm saying not so fast.
Yeah no it’s bad all around , and online people are decidedly NOT much better tbh. There are cliques of actual though and discourse about it but a lot is just sludge akin to ” nazis were leftists too you know, it says so in their party name!”
Part of this is that people (for correct and incorrect reasons) see the term liberal as negative and see the term moderate as positive, which it almost always is outside of political context.
Compared with issue polling, which suggests people want more radical policies, what it means to me is that people are ignorant about political ideology and that that's bad.
