KC is underrated. Great sense of place. It's conceptually similar to Chicago, where the people took a blah landscape and collectively made something beautfiul out of it.
It has very good parts and it has hell holes. Just as any large city does. I like the suburbs and some of the surrounding cities more than the actual city, but my recollection is based on 30 yr old personal knowledge.
