People need to understand that the internal culture of the institutional Dems was and is a culture of sexual misconduct enabling paired with deep, close-the-ranks protection of the MANY well-connected men who saw sexual harassment as their right.
And there was SUCH a sense of victimhood over #MeToo

I would like to read an essay about how anti Me Too backlash is central to understanding what Democratic elites and journalists mean when they talk about the party becoming “too left.” They will never say it out loud, but it’s 100% there.

There is a broad attitude that any sexual misconduct accountability work done in public against a predator official is a betrayal and immoral because it hurts the party and the party is the last bastion against GOP evil.
If you try and fight it, they will wreck you.
And then they will see YOU as the reason they are losing.
And the deep institutionalists will do everything they can to destroy you and your career.
Ask me how I know.
