Wish I was pruning, too, but soon enough. Got an apple tree that I didn't get to last fall and it's determined to double its size. Then there's the Wisteria that's never bloomed in 15 years. It's pruned as it should be and it's fed but still no flowers. Much as I appreciate the foliage. Any tips?

With Wisteria, I don't know. I've dealt with several very old ones that bloomed pretty reliably. Though, I did have to look up pruning for it from The Pruner's Bible every year. How's the sun for it?

Almost full sun. Prime real estate. One that won't bloom is purple Chinese. White Japanese Wisteria planted same time bloomed first year. Doing fine until last year's catastrophic warm weather winter at 6-7C followed by -30 cold snap in January. Hope it comes back this spring. Or it's a goner.

Purple one still had lots of foliage last summer. Just never has had a single flower. Maybe if I set my chainsaw down beside it and let it think about its options for a few weeks. Ha. Idea was to have a woodshed covered with Wisteria flowers. It has been fertilized with a bloom booster but no luck.

Sounds like you got a bum Wisteria. I wonder if it was seed grown and the genetics didn't play in your favor.

Ha --just reading about that. Will do a soil test in the spring. Most of our garden soil was imported or -- like the Wisteria -- I planted in good size holes in the native soil (SL/LS over gravel) with added garden soil/compost. Forest soil is neutral to slightly alkaline. Wisteria best at 6-7 pH.
