I’d be so hyped for A.I. if it was in the hands of humanists taking a holistic approach to its integration into our lives instead of devaluing the arts and gleefully eliminating the jobs of artists.
Technology is at its best when it makes us more human, not less. Rollercoasters. Karaoke. Lazer Tag.

At least GenAI already has some non evil uses such as coding, making memes, synthetic friend, etc.
The business case for it, with how much it gets wrong, isn’t there.
The only real examples of it being useful that I’ve seen is <1/2>…
They are literally the kind of evil that does things because you tell them it's evil.
I came across an open-source project recently. A $5k DIY humanoid robot.
I thought to combine it with computer vision - to bring it camping. Help me gather some camp fire kindling will ya? Ya know what to look for.
We shouldn't fear the future.
Rather than reading something myself to gauge sentiment or to summarize, I can now do it at scale for instance.
It becomes supplemental then - a force-multiplier.
Plus - ai can’t do edits. The longer it is around, the less threatened I feel as an artist. (Despite having my work used to train it without permission or pay)

Humans are a dead end.
Same with calculators.

where creativity and art vanish under the weight of war and destruction, technology could have helped amplify our voices instead of drowning us in more loss

Some are in the thrall of a techno-cult that preaches the singularity is coming, and those who helped it will be preserved in perpetuity while non-believers are punished. Really.
E.g. If you take photos of women laughing at salad, to sell to a photo library, mainly to be used as website placeholders - you're a tradesperson, an artisan - but not an artist.
E.g. Electric cars are about to make a load of ICU vehicle mechanics redundant - and I'm sure some of them like writing poetry.
Artists lost work with photography. Stage actors with film. Practical effects with CGI. Scribes with the Press etc.
Why is this different?
No. We should be doing rollercoasters. Karaoke. Lazer tag.
Google Assistant and Siri were supposed to be that.
But they don't work, and work even worse than they used to. And they come at a heavy cost, to us, our privacy, our planet, our peace.
So I don't use them.
If they managed to maintain its quality, I might have stayed in the Google bandwagon a lot longer than I did.
There’s something very spooky about what is emerging from these models and yeah it does also sadden me that they’re essentially now just capitalism cash cows.
And it does almost feel like the people simply seeing $$$ in it are also diminishing, in a very real way, the human condition and what it means.
Don’t blame a system at the expense of their accountability.

To bad it literally doesn’t exist and probably won’t exist anytime in the near future.
All the statistical algorithms masquerading as capable of thought suck. Stop listening to those, they literally don’t know anything.
So to some limited extent what you want is already happening, I think.
