Gutting the Dept of Ed means fewer teachers and support staff, more crowded classrooms, and increased mental health and behavioral challenges, at a time when our international competitors are investing in their kids and trying to out-educate us.

For the Nazis running the USA right now, this is a feature not a bug. They need a dumbed down population so the billionaires can continue to take advantage.
Gutting the DoE would also eliminate programs for children with special needs who have IEP’s and who may also need support in their classrooms….don’t forget those kids…there’s a reason Public Law 94-142 was passed in 1975.
It’s going to take essentially an underground and unfunded effort by the people in support of the people.
if teachers and educators aren’t ready to stomach a thankless endeavor for the betterment of humanity, we’re fucked and we have failed the test of human history.
My daughter in law is a 4th grade special ed teacher and was called into the principal's office two weeks ago. Her job is being eliminated due to government cuts. She has two assistants who also helped her with 28 special needs students.
What will happen to all those children? How will they learn?
💔 I have a highly functional 55 yr old nephew who was diagnosed with autism before many of us ever heard of it.
He couldn't speak, and there were behavioral issues. The "authorities" strongly suggested that he be institutionalized for the rest of life because he would "never develop normally."
Instead, he was privileged to attend a newly conceived school designed to help special needs kids. Eventually, he spoke, he read, & 15 yrs later was a college grad. He married, had children, and is an employed tax paying citizen today.
The return on that educational "investment" is inestimable.
We've placed a lot of kids who are VERY difficult and perhaps not best-served by regular schools into regular schools. "Least restrictive" is great, but it has led to a lack of more restrictive places for those who need it.
That's the POINT. His job is to cripple US development and power. Putin financed keeping him out of jail (someone needs to check Merrick Garland's bank accounts) and damaging the US is Trump's part of the deal.
Not necessarily. It might lead to a rush of innovation and imaginative ideas that have been suppressed by the weight of and political Pressure from of the dept of education

If they can break #teachersunion apart private equity can control both early childcare and grade schools.

Second side note-institutionalizing special ed students (if not monitized) regresses the US at least 50 years.
