Many of those non voters will complain the most. I haven’t missed voting in 1 election, & I’m 67. Many non voters have attitude that my vote doesn’t matter. Well it does matter in many local/state elections.

155 million Americans voted in 2024: 156,302,318 to be exact. Compulsory Voting is the most democratic way forward. 2/3rds of American apathy is the reason Trump was elected.

There are too many "activists" who aren't involved in politics, at any level, until presidential elections. Every 4 years they pretend to make a statement with their vote, or lack of, and then return to contributing nothing while talking shit and taking zero action.

I'd also say the low voter turnout is the main reason for the misery. The low turnout again is also caused by the way elections in the US are organized. People are systematically discouraged from voting.

Florida has an easy voting system for everyone who wants to vote. I can’t imagine how anyone could excuse themselves from voting here except for those too lazy or uninterested to participate. They encourage vote by mail. You call to check if it was received. Done ✅

Good to hear. Do you have to register to vote? In the EU you don't. You have a legal address, you are automatically registered and sent your voting card before elections. Comes with an official envelope. You can mail it in or drop it at the ballot box, on a Sunday, there never are lines.

Yes, exactly. It's entitled. If a voter has a firm ideology and set of values, they will vote every single election for the person who has the best chance of protecting the most of those values.

If you have no values, you'll vote for the person you "like" & if you don't like them, you won't vote.
