Once a person has been led astray, it derails many future commenters & disrupts the pathway I was trying to set––which leads people on tangents that have nothing to do with the original post.
Which is a problem.
Bluesky currently doesn't reward engagement. So we can delete!
Just getting started writing about this political chaos & I’m trying to be … helpful, rather than reactive and petty.
That way we can still talk about what’s happening without spiraling on a daily basis. :P
I didn’t take it personally.
I just wanted honest hardworking people to not be distracted by lies and disruption.
I'm just a little more organized than that. If someone came here to learn or enjoy something in particular, then I want to stick to the point & not waste people's time on endless tangents.
I try to be liberal, in the true sense of the word, and take on board the negative comments too, unless they violate general decency.
I’ve noticed this pattern unfold even in educational threads. Imagine trying to have a constructive discussion about a technical topic, only to be interrupted by off-topic or derogatory comments. Mute/Delete is a perfect remedy to keep the discussion on track.
Now I finally have the power to keep them on track. Some people innocently sap strength from the main topic.
Others create malicious fractures in it.
