I don't know what good it will ultimately do, but since I'm from Kentucky I've just called the office of Brett Guthrie who is on the Energy & Commerce committee to share my concern over the cuts to Medicaid. The person I spoke to took down my notes and said he'd pass them along.

I called all members in my state. I just said something along the lines of “I am a citizen of [state], I am calling in regards to the budget reconciliation that will be coming before representative [Rep Name] in committee. I would like to strong encourage them to vote no.”

I tried to email Chairman Thompson since he's from my state. This is what came up on his site. OUTSIDE OF DISTRICT- The zip code entered indicates that you reside outside the district. Due to the large volume of US mail and email we are only able to accept messages from residents of the district.

Thompson's district (he's my Congressman) is primarily rural and farmland. If he wants to keep his constituents happy, he'll look out for the farmers. Unfortunately, it's also a safe district.

Thompson is my congressman. He's almost as sleazy as they get but definitely as tRumpy as they get. When I was a reporter his staff stopped letting me know when he was coming to town right after I asked him a question that wasn't pre-approved. Probably a coincidence, right? 🙄
