With the Team Fortress 2 source code now part of the Source SDK I'd reaaaaaaaaally love to have a reason to come back to the world of Blue vs Red, the announcer, Saxton Hale...
...guh now I got myself sad I'm not in the thick of the best days of gaming when TF2 was red hot.

It's really cool that the creative community making stuff for TF2 is as active as it's ever been
Where might an old TF2 fan catch up on what the community is cooking up? I hadn't realized its thriving as it is. I am glad I got to contribute in my own way by running the TF2 Polycount contest back then.
This was added last year:

@ueakcrash.bsky.social's server does map tests every friday night
There's a community built updated version of Hammer with fixes for all the features Valve left kinda broken, but also adds entirely new ones like lighting preview, physics simulation, even brush to mesh conversion

Fun fact: The Croc-o-Style pack was made by Astroneer art director Spencer Kern. We had (unknowingly by me!) met years before ever working together during the Polycount Pack contest. I organized it and he was a winner of it.
