My experience as a #gamedev in #leveldesign have come full circle. Began with online resources to learn about engines and tools to build playable content. WFH in 2025, reading online resources to learn about engines and tools to build playable content. Except now with optional Slack huddles.

Yay now we can finally stop talking about my hometown Dannemora NY!

Am willing to bet the divide between these 2 shows mirrors these games: BSG: Fallout 3/4 The Expanse: Fallout New Vegas

Playing RoboCop tonight. I know there is a sprint button but I won’t use it because RoboCop doesn’t sprint. The designers know that no one has any attention span in 2023 so there is a sprint button, but its essentially a “fast forward” for content. No crouch button, and that is in character!

My Level Design Learning Path videos for #UnrealEngine at Epic Dev Community! This series of videos was contracted for Epic Games to show how to use the UE Editor specifically for #leveldesign. I hope to continue these videos privately at some point. #gamedev dev.epicgames.com/community/pr...

Continuing retrospective of my Gotham Knights #leveldesign! The abandoned ruins of Arkham Asylum. Shrouded in dark horror, the Bat family would uncover the League of Shadows grisly ritual of creating a Man-Bat army in a secret lab inspired by the 1990 film Darkman. 🧵 #gamedev #UnrealEngine #Batman

Tha fuck is this?

My GDC talk about how we made the levels for Tactical Breach Wizards (and how pleasantly unusual / unusually pleasant it was to work on) is free to watch on the vault, here: gdcvault.com/play/1035209...

one of my earlier design goals with JP was to imagine if mid-century californian "googie" style had spread internationally, eventually getting embraced by places like Tokyo and Hong Kong. a synthesis of HK's Nathan Road and LA's Sunset Strip

Gotham Knights #leveldesign! Clayface boss battle. My arena blockout was inspired by early 1900s reservoir pumping stations. I prototyped his "grate rush" attack in #UE blueprint - clay tendrils emerging into the arena interior. Ultimately the attack was scrapped. #gamedev commentary! 🔊 #Batman
