My wife is out to vote at our suburban Baltimore county voting center, and she’s texting me that there’s just tons of open Trump supporters there, including a couple of guys in front of her joking about bombing ballot drop boxes.

Auugh. Sorry she and everyone else in line have to go through that. I feel for election workers across the country who are going to have to intervene in situations like this.
have her call Election Protection (866-OUR VOTE) to report this. They are a non-partisan voter protection hotline that very much wants to help address this sort of thing (I will be volunteering for them on Saturday and election day).
(I would say, even if she waits to report when she's back in her car, EP really wants to know about these sorts of systemic things that can affect multiple voters. Loudly proclaiming your support of a candidate within a certain distance of a polling place (100ft in NY) is prohibited electioneering)
Yeah like…I asked her if she could report them, like is that legal, but also she does not want to stick her neck out here, she wants to put her head down and come home.
And this is like, low level stuff. But it’s enough to make her feel extremely uncomfortable and I’m fucking furious about it, but they feel this impunity and it makes good people worry that they feel it because they’ve won.
These guys are blowing smoke, not only won't trump win the state, nor will their Republican Senate candidate. Nevertheless it's infuriating that these guys always feel entitled to bully & intimidate everyone else when their position is the minority one.
Yesterday, @aaronvandorn.bsky.social and I were talking about how we're less concerned with post-election interference, and more concerned about election day violence/intimidation.
She is feeling very scared there right now and wants to put her head down and vote and get out of there. These are the guys ahead of her in a line that also has lots of other open Trump supporters in it.
Well, if she feels up to it, she can always call the cops from her car when she's done. Sending both of you good vibes, and as for the Trumpsters, may they step on Lego for all eternity!
I’m heading out to my county courthouse to vote in a bit (a few folks including @uppityokie.bsky.social know which one. I feel the need for people to know, just in case
I absolutely think it's worth reporting. No guarantee but possibly they will have someone at least come take a look and/or talk to staff to have them shut that kind of thing down in the future.
It might not alone rise to the level where they would do something - but if there are multiple issues from that location, that would be important to know!
The organization does/will have trained nonpartisan poll watchers at various places, but they cannot cover them all. It might be useful to call (even later) just to flag the location as one that might be of concern.

Because even scattered Election Day violence could lead to HUGE disruptions across the country as people react.
