I at least believe Cory Booker may have a chance if he keeps showing up and making his presence known; however, I do agree that a ticket with two women will never get elected when we couldn’t even get Hillary or Kamala elected.
A massive amount of voter suppression happened between before the 2020 election,& went on steroids between 2020 and 2024. It's still going strong (SAVE act, etc.). I'd like to see Democrats directly addressing that. See @gregpalast.bsky.social and his website https://www.gregpalast.com
I absolutely do not agree with this. We had a black man named Barrack Hussein win because he spoke to the working class. We need a near-populist movement and AOC's message is what drives people to the polls. The message is more important than identity.
One-off. Trump did not infect the masses by that point. That is when it started. Obama got in because the majority of the country was reasonable. We're in a post-Trump era. It would be MUCH harder for Obama to win today than back then even if we were guaranteed the same success of his term.
Social media and tech companies have been pulling the levers and pushing the buttons of our society, absolutely warping our perception of reality to the point no where objective reality itself has a political leaning. This is why they have fought hard to keep technology addictive.
Completely. Obama will continue to remain the best president in modern times. Young, cognitively together (what a sad requirement these days), great speaker, uniter.
This is why they're pushing for a world model where AI does all the cool artsy and fun shit, and humans live in mundane servitude to it. They are turning reality itself into a product they can eat up, and then make us come groveling back to them for the crumbs.
The only reason it would be harder for him to win today is because his messaging is more inline now with Democratic elites. Messaging that speaks to the working class works.
Disregarding any changes to his messaging over the years, it'd still be harder for him because our society is more polarized than ever in history. Him being black would be his downfall today even though it was one of the perks back then. I'd love for more Obama. Reality is cruel though.
Racisim was alway's there in our country. tRump just gave them all permission to come out from under their "rocks"! We have alot of work to do to send them back to where they came from!
Polarization means D's will vote for any D and R's will vote for any R. There are many people who are fed up with the Dem elite class. Working class people want to hear from a working class candidate and what they will DO for them. We are in this moment for a reason. No more of the same.
Agreed. The Dems keep moving to the right for the most part, but even as they pick up Center and Center right voters, they're losing the left edge, losing the working class. I'm tired of the assumption that all of the independent and non-partisan voters are between the Democrats and the Republicans.
Sadly, a consequence of POTUS Obama was waking the sleeping kkk racists, Neo-nazis, isolationists, etc. & they mobilized their racist af family & neighbors to install ☣️💩 ... we can never underestimate the power of white insecurity & how it will rally to maintain their addiction to white supremacy.
Nope. The tired Democratic Party is done. The rest of us are loving on. They don’t represent us. We aren’t waiting for them to magically see the light. Let’s vote for the people who actually work for us.
I used to think that but now I think the reason Clinton &Harris failed is they weren’t “exciting” the apathetic masses weren’t inspired to vote. what drew people to MAGA was the disruption to status quo. A candidate like AOC would excite the nation. People always want change and she is change.
What we need is to make sure the Democratic Party keeps their loser mitts off the campaign and let the Progressives take the wheel. Bernie lost in '16 because the DNC was owned by Hillary and in '20 when the Party coalesced around Biden.
Why? The US needs strong and intelligent leaders, white, yellow, or purple makes no difference! Educate the generations after you. Create a world of abundance, with innovation, with trade and negotiation, not adversarial no winner policies such as Trump proposes. Get Healthcare!
