It was the only name the kids and I could agree on! They thought it sounded cool and I had just read Count Zero by William Gibson. If I remember right the Zero in Holes was pretty quiet--mine talks constantly! 🙂

My kids thought Zero sounded cool and I had just read the William Gibson novel Count Zero--in the end, it was the only name we could agree on. When we adopted him, the humane society told us he was named Judas (!)--I am still baffled by that.
