How much distance would 1mm on this picture be equal to?

This is the wrong unit to use, since the image can be seen in different screens. A pixel would be better. Since the finished photo is rendered with fixed amount of it. The object is 2400 LY away from us, in a region densely populated with stars. I'd say the "silouhette" is 150 LY tall.

Nope. A crop into a photography i have taken with my gears. The scope is extremely sharp. The cropped area is about 20% of the whole frame. It's just that it takes quite some work. In the words of the writer of a classic astrophotography manual, "I love astrophotography because it is hard."

Amazing image- I perceive the curve as the distinctive part of the truck so the picture would be rotated 90 degrees to 120 degrees to the right. This version looks sideways or almost upside down.
