Tom Cleverley deserves all the plaudits he will get. He’s made mistakes this season and never professed to be perfect. He also takes a lot of unwarranted nonsense. But he made big calls with his starting XI today and absolutely nailed it. #WatfordFC

That wasn't the question. We know what would have happened if Luton had won: barracking, 'sell up' and so forth. So why will we have no praise when we win, due to their foresight and management?
Gotcha! Speaking only for myself, because it still feels like victory in spite of, not because. I also reckon victory over Luton in isolation is enough to push all that aside unlike any other opponent. Plenty of talk prior about setting that aside to focus energies on backing the team.
You're right, it is in spite of, just as how Sean overperformed in 2011/12 in spite of red hat man.
The home win cancels out the away defeat. Stoke away becomes a must-win, and we can't lapse into errors. Pollock may return, but Bayo is doomed to be (un)supersub.
Incredible from Ince. His up-down season has been the perfect illustration of social media’s binary takes. Hat trick: good. No hat trick: bad. Stopping Luton: good.
Too many people take small samples and draw unwarranted conclusions from them that confirm their existing beliefs. Tom should be given the space to learn because the only way we have a shot at beating mid table with our budget is if the team overachieves, and that has to start with the head coach.
Very good point, David. Pinching this from someone else but he’s now our highest-scoring midfielder in a single campaign since Allen Abdi in 2014/15, which is quite something!

Why does this always, always happen?

Ince, eh?!
