I have a suspicion as to how Vance Day got on the radar of the Trump Administration. Oregon's Solomon Yue is a longtime RNC member and a pretty close associate of/donor to Trump. I first saw the news about Day's appointment a week ago on FB from an org run by Yue's partner, also a GOP activist.
