I successfully RGH'd my Xbox 360 using BadUpdate as a nand flasher. This is an incredible accomplishment, RGH3 is now a 2 wire solder job. The points are still not easy to solder to, but I did it with cheap equipment and it still works. - ThreadSky

yee I was wondering about this. It seems like dumping your nand and decrypting your KV is pretty easy with only software, flashing the modded nand back onto the console with only software, I haven't seen anything for that yet. But i'm still new to x360 stuff. Still exciting stuff though.

(replied this on X but i will say it again here; as cool as this is, because of the high risk of a brick being unrecoverable if your console is too stubborn to stick to RGH3 or if you mess up your soldering job, i really do not recommend doing RGH3 with BadUpdate without a flasher)

Yes you can always flash the NAND manually with a pico or xflasher as long as you still have the retail NAND backed up
