I tried listening to those voters in that podcast and it was challenging to say the least. The most charitable thing I can say is they are nuclear grade uninformed. If these people are that susceptible to misinformation I have no idea how we can agree on a shared set of facts

Sorry to say but "We the People" paid for this. Those for & against Trump have made a shit ton of money. Paid subscribers to podcasts rake in millions, so does subscriptions to Substack (30K base paying $5 per month grosses $1.8 mil). Lincoln Project alone has raked in $142 mil since 2019.

More to the point Musk is a perfect scapegoat for Trump. Trump hasn’t contemplated what to do if Musk succeeds and gets the upper hand. But Trump has immunity and Elon does not and he knows it.

Just look at who has funded Musk's companies, the other companies they have funded, and VCs that invest in defense technologies. Think about running the govt on AI - huge opportunity and Musk is in the lead position.

Musk is after data for his AI platform. More broadly, Musk wants access to billions of $$ in government contracts for his companies as well as many other venture backed companies. Look at his companies and others funded by the VCs - all want big contracts to generate returns for VCs. It's the $$
