“Home-growns”mean any of us. And with no guarantee of due process and administrative incompetence, this could be life sentences in El Salvador for any of us.

The bipartisan belief that America would be a better place if *other people* worked in a factory. www.ft.com/content/8459...

A must watch. youtu.be/o_1GzmjOvKQ?...

“BRING HIM HOME” 🔥

Trump is also saying that the once the US has rounded up individuals, with minimal or zero due process, on whatever pretext they choose, they can send them out of the US to face torture, death, life imprisonment, slave labor or other fates that are unconstitutional or illegal in the US.

WOW holy shit they’re gonna ignore the unanimous Supreme Court ruling on bringing Abrego Garcia home to Maryland….Trump just posted that the people they send to El Salvador "are in the sole custody of El Salvador and their future is up to President Bukele and his Government."

A helpful guide to the current state of US trade policy:

“I had no idea when I voted for the 2024 GOP that they wanted to kick non-white people out of the country”

Grotesque and cruel. www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

I’ve never seen a tweet that more effectively communicates how we got to this current situation

This is a very good point that I haven't seen made yet. It's not just Trump that is undermining trust in the US. It is also the inability of US institutions to stop him. And even if you make that "inability to stop him so far," it's already too far to maintain trust.

This is so dystopian. There's no other word for it. A U.S. official hopes that hundreds of people shipped to an El Salvadoran prison are stuck there for life without charge or conviction. This is so deeply un-American, and will be a dark stain on our history. www.axios.com/2025/04/09/k...

There's a lot of ink spilled on how Democrats should win back low-info voters (particularly young men) with rightward shifts when "stop being weak and pathetic" is the better tack. The reason AOC gets respect from low-info voters is that she doesn't let people walk all over her the way Schumer does.

hate to say it but this is not a party that wants to fix the country if it ever gets power back

The US Secretary of Education referred to AI as ‘A1,’ like the steak sauce

HEGSETH: We're taking back the canal TRUMP: We've moved a lot of troops to Panama

BREAKING: Musk’s DOGE has fired car safety experts in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration who directly regulated Tesla.

Either he has no idea what he's doing and blinked hard when the world fought back or he is using the entire global economy and the financial security of all Americans in repeated pump-and-dump schemes for himself and his friends, it may be some combination of the two but those are the options.

As a 20 year communications professional I’d like to offer Democrats my most sophisticated advice: While Trump is punching himself in the nuts, you could choose to 1. Also punch him in the nuts; or 2. Punch yourself in the nuts. I strongly advise number 1.

okay now that you all have gotten a taste of America's rational and predictable new trade policy, everyone who wants to build your new factories here just form an orderly line

I definitely understand now, how, with the right temperament and leadership, it is possible to bankrupt a casino.

If you need to reposition your portfolio. Do it NOW.

He's going to drop all of these tariffs in a couple months, and then he's going to declare victory and trumpet the fact that the DOW went up 1000 points, and I literally fucking beg the media not to just print that as news without context both in headlines and column inches

After much consideration, I have decided that EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY I will no longer be cutting off my own dick. I will, however, continue to take an aggressive posture towards my balls. Thank you for your attention in this matter.

No notes. 💯

Another epic loss by @schumer.senate.gov on capitulation on the shutdown. How is he still in charge?

90 percent. They sent innocent people to a gulag so Trump could look like a tough guy. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

"Donald Trump's tariffs are so punishing that even the houses in Monopoly are going to get more expensive. And I do mean that literally." In the latest edition of The Breakdown, @citizencohn.bsky.social looks at one close-up example of how tariffs will play out: www.thebulwark.com/p/trump-tari...

The Supreme Court saying deportation targets must have due process (as long as they have a lawyer ready to go with a habeas suit who quickly notices an unannounced disappearing by unmarked agents) is Jim Crow stuff. You technically have rights, says the Court, you just won’t get to exercise them.

the first speedboat pilots to evade Fortress America's coast guard patrols to smuggle Switch 2s through the florida keys will be the next generation of folk heroes

“At least I got to say slurs again,” the finance guy who never stopped saying slurs thinks to himself as he opens his 37th story office window and looks at the sidewalk below.

Happy Appomattox Day to all who celebrate and I expect each and every one of you to celebrate.

The 4-day drop of 12% in the S&P is astounding, but oil prices (WTI chart from Bloomberg below) fell even more, by about 20%. Both are part of a significant market repricing of the growth outlook for the global economy. #economy #markets #oil
