So why would it benefit EU economies to become more ‘local’ to London based finance operations?
There are many things which could be done for the positive, but all of them are in Labour's hands, and all of them cross Labour's red lines.

SPS checks, no need for carnets for performers, automatic work permits for certain categories, youth schemes, Gallileo, Erasmus+, GPSR...

I was thinking more of things that Labour could admit would make a difference and move towards - and yes, that might mean joining a body of one variety or another.
It's the red lines which are stopping them from improving UK, not the options.
