The most inappropriate guitar solo ever is "Somewhere in my heart" by Aztec Camera. Just totally out of place with the rest of the song.

Totally disagree, although it is a contrast to the rest of the song. It's like the song is shaking the bottle and the solo is the sound when the cap is twisted off. It's a genius piece of music that releases tension perfectly.

Nah. Still think it's a decent pop song solo.

Most inappropriate solo is surely the one in Fight For Your Right. First bar or so is good then it just kind of runs out of steam.

No it isn’t. I bet you’re one of those people than likes guitar solos that just play the same melody as the vocals.

Also the F1 bit from Fleetwood Mac's The Chain. Awesome, but really doesn't fit.

That's because The Chain was originally three different songs, written by three different people.
Why they decided to put all of them into one song is probably due to massive cocaine use. It's still a banger of a song though.

I'm a mine of useless information.
Like which company produces the most number of tyres a year?
Bridgestone/Firestone?
Pirelli?
Michelin?

Wrong
That solo, coming as it does right after the line "the closest thing to heaven is to rock and roll" is absolutely necessary and utterly perfect.

That title belongs to the solo in ‘crazy horses’ by The Osmonds.
