I'm willing to bet decent money that 90-95% of people who identify as Christian have never read the bible cover to cover. If they did they'd run a mile at all the shit they are supposed to believe in.

I’ve read it several times and the only miles I run are for fun. I’d agree that a decent proportion probably haven’t read the full Bible but not put it that high.
One of the main pieces of supporting evidence for your theory is the sheer number of people prepared to swear on the Bible in court/at their inaugurations... despite the fact that it clearly says *twice* not to do that, in James 5:12 and Matthew 5:34-37.
I used to go to church with a retired copper, I asked him about it one day. He said he knew what the Bible said but the jury wouldn't like it if he didn't swear on it so he always swore on it.
Which means, of course, that *they* didn't know that. What a choice, though - hypocrisy because you knew and still did it (even, in this case, with good intentions) or hypocrisy by claiming to believe something you clearly didn't even read. The ultimate unread T's&C's...
The Skeptic's Annotated Bible is a fun read for anyone interested in the sheer insanity, cruelty and nonsense written into the bible. https://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/
