Am I the only one who quite likes the look of wind turbines? I think it's pretty relaxing watching them spin away in the breeze. If they'd been there for 100 years we'd kick off if someone tried taking them down. Eyesore my arse.

I like them because you can post a GridWatch screenshot alongside that DiCaprio Calvin Candie meme when somebody's spouting bollocks online about renewables (about half of the time).
If we can cope with fields and hedges all over the countryside I see no problem with turbines and solar. As the so called country side alliances are all too quick to tell us, the environment has always been managed. It’s irrelevant anyway we have no choice.
Annoyingly the safest nuclear power stations (advanced gas cooled) are the biggest. GB shot itself in the foot with a reactor design that can't pass its own planning permission!
Absolutely. They're beautiful tall elegant structures. Far prettier than medieval windmills but everyone seems to love those. So much of it is just neophobia.
I like them because I also like electricity.
I think of what the landscape would look like without them - typically barren hills with no vegetation because that was cleared for grazing animals 100 years earlier.
Try standing under the blades of one, they're scarily impressive. And if the whole eyesore thing is a problem I don't know why they aren't given a camo paint scheme with clear blades.
I love them and they are quite awe inspiring up close, you can't appreciate the size from the motorway. Plus, the arms make a swoosh noise when they go round 😁

I feel similarly about seeing terraced houses from above, a time when we actually tried to house everyone well.
‘These wind farms are a waste of money. Britain already has enough wind without putting massive fans all over the countryside….’

It's in the middle of a city, tho'.
But, being pedantic, it isn’t a nuclear power station and doesn’t have massive cooling towers. 😉
