Along with prep time and cook time, recipes should include tidy up time and the number of pots and pans needed. You can then immediately dismiss any recipe that uses more than 2 pans and takes longer to clean up than it does to make.

If you consult the recipe when you're already a couple of beers in and hungry, there's nothing they can write down that will change the fact that you're going to lose.
No recipe takes longer to clean than it does to make, ffs. If doing the washing up and cleaning the surfaces takes more than 15 minutes there's something wrong with you.
My pet hate is recipes that hide things you have to do in the ingredients list to make the instructions shorter. "1 onion, chopped" etc.
Besides being annoying, it's not clear if you'll get time to do that whilst other bits are cooking.
Equal division of labour. If you do the cooking, the tidy up time takes no time because you don’t tidy up. Your partner should. Equal division of labour and all that.
Also, fuck your unnecessary long winded story about your grandmother or trip to Sicily where you learned about the recipe just so that I have to scroll through the ads.
And no I will not subscribe to your twee blog about some other bullshit.
You can almost guarantee doubling or tripling the prep time to include the clearing up...and that doesn't even include washing THOSE dishes you used for it.
I LOATHE recipes that lie like this - and they practically all do!

Step 1 - marinade the chicken in the sauce overnight...
